4th Annual Neil's Ruck

This June 2026, in honor of SSgt Neil Brooks and veterans' mental health, Cassie Brooks has a goal of rucking 50 miles—carrying 22 lbs in honor of the 22 veterans we lose to suicide every day.

Neil’s Walk is a memorial tribute to SSgt Neil Brooks and a powerful statement against the ongoing tragedy of Veteran suicide. Rucking is the activity of walking with a weighted rucksack (backpack), which is rooted in military training workouts.

All proceeds from this event will go directly to Healing Warriors Program, a nonprofit providing free, non-narcotic care to Veterans and their families. Your donation helps fund treatments that support healing from pain, PTSD, and sleep issues—critical services that save lives.

The Healing Warriors Program: Suicide Prevention through no-cost integrative non-narcotic treatments for PTSD, TBI, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, sleep disturbances, and more. We serve veterans from any era and branch of service. We also serve disabled and homeless veterans, Active-duty troops, reservists, National Guard, and our service members' spouses/partners and parents. Healing Warriors Program operates in Fort Collins, Aurora & Colorado Springs, and has provided over 40,000 treatments. 

In addition to integrative treatment care, we provide home self-care tools, gun locks, and Client Care navigation services to assist in connecting our veterans with community resources and counseling services, all at NO COST. We solve problems together as a community, and our fundraising events focus on education, awareness, and removing barriers for our veteran families in obtaining care. HWP is a 501(c)(3), registered VA vendor and Guidestar Platinum Charity.
