Dear Friends and Family,

This year has been filled with so many wonderful memories spent working with our superstar volunteers on river and on land at Colorado Canyons Association. I can hardly believe I have lived in Colorado for five years now—but moving to Grand Junction and finding the community amongst people who love to be outside has been the best adventure yet. This place I am proud to call my chosen home has made accessing public lands and exploring outside a centerpiece in lives.  Fortunately, this area is home to three National Conservation Areas (NCAs) out of the 20 in the country—all of which are within an hour’s drive of each other. For those of you who grew up in a rural, flat area of the Midwest like me, this is a dream come true for those of us who love the outdoors but didn’t grow up in an area where we could take advantage of nature’s playground regularly!

At Colorado Canyons Association, we work to protect and promote stewardship of these three beautiful NCA’s. One mission of CCA is to get hundreds of adults and students outside to explore these public lands, who otherwise might not have the opportunities to explore the outdoors and these special landscapes that are right in their backyard.  Additionally, we offer land and river youth education programs through schools, volunteer events, and community events—the majority of which are free and open to the public.

Donations are crucial to helping us fund the important work we are doing in the community and in our public lands. Through December 9th, you can give directly to my fundraiser to support CCA and public lands! If you can, please help me reach my goal of raising $500 by December 9th. Every little bit helps make a difference, no matter what you can give.  This year your donations are even more important given the unprecedented cuts to federal budgets that typically fund our work year-round.

To learn more about CCA's 2025 accomplishments, you can read more below. I'd love to hear from you, too, so please give me a call with any questions or if you would like to hear more about our organization. Thank you!

Warmly,

Morgan Rossway"

Colorado Canyons Association Work and Impact

Some of the most breathtaking and storied landscapes in North America—McInnis Canyons, Dominguez-Escalante, and Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Areas—are also our communities’ wild backyards. These places define our quality of life and deepen our shared sense of place.

At Colorado Canyons Association (CCA), we work to ensure these public lands remain vibrant and protected for generations to come. Each year, we connect thousands of kids and adults to their NCAs through hands-on education, volunteer stewardship, and community experiences that inspire care and connection.

Whether on foot, hoof, bike, boat, or ATV, CCA helps people build lasting relationships with the landscape and with one another.

Our work continues, strengthening community stewardship and ensuring Colorado’s NCAs thrive.

So far in 2025...

• 2832 learners received place-based education on the lands and rivers of our National Conservation Area - 306 joined us on day-long or overnight river trips...

• 210+ CCA volunteers dedicated over 1,800 hours to stewarding their public lands…

• And over 500 adults connected to their public lands through CCA's community events!

Thank you for caring about the landscapes that make our home such an amazing place!   With your donation we can help more kids experience our rivers, plant more native vegetation, connect more of our neighbors to the land, positively impact our wildlife and water and give back to the resources that give so much to us.
