Mind Springs Health (MSH) was approached by Garfield County stakeholders and asked to house and operate a Glenwood Springs withdrawal management facility.  The facility will be constructed in MSH Glenwood Springs outpatient office, co-located with a continuum of mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) treatment and recovery services. They project will create 8 client beds for all genders, 24/7 same-day access to care, and direct access for EMS and law enforcement transfer.

Community Driven Solutions

In 2019, a group of stakeholders formed the Recovery Continuum Taskforce (RCT) to explore the possibility of bringing withdrawal management (WM) services, or detox, to Garfield County which had not existed in over 13 years.

RCT quickly identified its primary goal of building a full continuum of resources and structure that support living in recovery, with a withdrawal management program as a core component.

The Glenwood Springs WM program will serve residents of Garfield County and surrounding counties, as well as area visitors. All local municipalities and areas hospitals are financially committee to supporting operations for the first four years and will provide governance oversight for the WM program.

This project was entirely designed and lifted by communities in Garfield County and the final barrier to bringing this program to fruition is securing full project funding.
