Through in-depth storytelling, we will bring attention to the overlooked efforts of local youth organizations, bringing their everyday impact to the heart of our community.
This year, Local NEWS Network is launching a powerful new project to spotlight youth-focused nonprofits that are the backbone of our community — organizations like The Hive, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Colorado, La Plata Youth Services, and the Boys & Girls Club of La Plata County & Southern Ute Indian Tribe.
“This project helps amplify real, everyday moments of resilience and growth that often go unseen — and it inspires our community to keep showing up for its young people.” - Kelsie Borland, Executive Director of The Hive.
Through authentic storytelling, we’ll shine a light on the programs, mentors, and community builders shaping the next generation — while helping these nonprofits reach more people, raise more support, and elevate their meaningful work.
Your donation makes that possible. Here’s how your gift will make an impact:
- Fund local nonprofit storytelling. Your contribution will help fund a LNN news reporter to produce eight professional video news segments about local youth service organizations — distributed regionally across all LNN platforms throughout 2026.
- Fuel community reach. Together, we’ll generate more than 12 million impressions across the LNN network, raising awareness throughout the region.
- Amplify nonprofit voices. 25% of every dollar donated goes directly back to these organizations as in-kind advertising — empowering them to promote events, recruit volunteers, fundraise, and share their youth success stories.
- Bridge funding gaps. Your support keeps our economy strong and offsets the effects of shrinking government resources, helping nonprofits stay visible and resilient.
