LGBTQ+ Justice for Colorado

Times are tough but so are LGBTQ+ Coloradans. 

LGBTQ+ rights and freedoms are being rolled back across the country and One Colorado continues to be on the front line protecting the policies and laws that make Colorado a safe and inclusive state for LGBTQ+ people of all ages. 

Over the years, I have had a multitude of roles with One Colorado - volunteer, staff member, community member and now a board member. I fought for the initial policies that advanced transgender inclusive healthcare and set the path for Colorado to be the transgender sanctuary state it is today. As so many states ban gender-affirming care for youth and even for adults, it breaks my heart to know so many people will go without their medically necessary, life-saving health care. I’m grateful to live in a state that fights for transgender people like me and families like mine - a state government that let’s health care decisions stay between doctors and patients.

With all credible professional health associations supporting transgender health care and gender-affirming care for all ages, based on decades of research about its safety, effectiveness, and age-appropriate spectrum of care through the life span. 

Unfortunately, transgender inclusive healthcare care is under attack here in Colorado and will likely be on the ballot in November 2026. What happens here in Colorado for transgender rights, will set the stage for transgender rights across the country.
