A sweet treat is a better choice than a lifetime commitment.

Every year after Easter, rescues like Rocky Mountain House Rabbit Rescue (RMHRR) face a heartbreaking reality: hundreds of rabbits purchased as Easter novelties are abandoned, neglected, or surrendered. Rabbit rescues quickly become overcrowded and underfunded.

Did you know?
95% of rabbits bought for Easter don’t live to see their first birthday.

They’re often bought on impulse and discarded once the novelty fades — left in backyards, dumped at shelters, or forgotten in cages. These innocent animals deserve better.

That’s why we’re saying: Make Mine Chocolate 🍫.

This Easter, RMHRR is partnering with Colorado Cocoa Pod, a woman-owned chocolatier creating gorgeous, artisan chocolate bunnies using ethically sourced cocoa. It’s a treat you can feel really good about.

Here’s how you can help:

Donate to our Easter Fundraiser
Your gift directly supports our "Make Mine Chocolate” campaign - 100% of donations go directly to helping provide emergency vet care, food and supplies for abandoned and neglected rabbits.

Sponsor a Bunny
With a $45 donation, you’ll be able to provide food and toys to one rescued rabbit for a month.

Spread the Word
Share our message: Rabbits are a 10+ year commitment — not a holiday gift.

Together, we can stop the cycle of impulse purchases and abandonment.

Help us change hearts with chocolate — not heartbreak.

Make Mine Chocolate 🍫— Not a Rabbit.

In addition to donating please consider purchasing an ethically sourced chocolate bunny this Easter from the Colorado Cocoa Pod to help support the Make Mine Chocolate Campaign while also supporting a small woman own business that creates beautiful artisan chocolates from ethically sourced cocoa beans to support the prevention of child labor.
