Empowering Rural Youth Through STEA2M Innovation

Our Vision

To be a leading rural youth incubator, empowering students of all ages to achieve their full potential and drive innovation in Chaffee County and beyond.

Our Mission

The Junior Edison STEA2mPlant (JES) is dedicated to elevating every student to their potential through:

  • Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Agriculture, and Mathematics (STEA2M) education

  • Support hands-on labs, projects, and mentorship opportunities that foster innovation, resilience, and community impact

  • Create pathways to job possibilities and entrepreneurship in areas of student interest

Based in Salida, Colorado, JES serves as a launchpad for students to discover their passions, develop real-world skills, and connect with mentors and career pathways.

Our Goal

We are raising funds to provide student scholarships as a reward for completing the JES 16-Week Incubator Program, launching January 2026.

Through this program, students commit to 16 weeks of workshops and hands-on learning designed to:

  • Build skills in STEA2M fields

  • Foster innovation, problem-solving, and leadership

  • Connect students to local career opportunities and mentors

Upon successful completion, students earn a scholarship that supports their continued education and career exploration.

Why It Matters

Rural students often lack access to advanced STEAM education, entrepreneurship training, and exposure to job possibilities. JES bridges this gap by creating an incubator environment where students learn by doing, develop entrepreneurial mindsets, and gain confidence in their ability to shape the future.

The scholarship is not just financial aid—it’s a recognition of effort, growth, and achievement. Students walk away with both new skills and resources to keep advancing their education.

How You Can Help

Your donation directly funds these earned scholarships. With your support, JES can ensure that every student who completes the program receives both the tools and the recognition they deserve.
