At the Clyfford Still Museum, we believe that brilliance is never achieved alone. Clyfford Still entrusted 93% of his life’s work to an unnamed American city—bypassing traditional museums and institutions—because he believed art should serve the public good. When his widow, Patricia Still, chose Denver as that city, the Museum became a living symbol of civic trust and creative possibility.

Today, the Still continues that vision as a catalyst for collaboration, learning, and innovation — right here in Denver’s creative capital. One of the most exciting examples is The Institute, a pioneering fellowship program launched in 2024. This program reimagines Still’s legacy through the intersecting lenses of art, education, and social enterprise, inviting artists, educators, and entrepreneurs to explore how creativity can drive social progress.

As we prepare to welcome the third cohort of fellows next summer, your support can help expand The Institute’s reach and deepen its impact. Your gift will:

  • Empower Fellows: Providing mentorship, resources, and a platform to develop work that strengthens both art and community.

  • Provide Access: Equip fellows with access to research, support, and networks across Denver’s creative community.

  • Build a Collaborative Community: Foster connections between fellows, Museum staff, and local partners, ensuring the program’s impact resonates far beyond our walls.

Your gift this Colorado Gives Day helps the Clyfford Still Museum carry forward a legacy of bold, independent thinking rooted in Denver. Together, we can empower the next generation of artists, educators, and entrepreneurs to turn creative vision into civic action, ensuring that Still’s pioneering spirit continues to inspire change across Colorado and beyond.
