Dara's Giving Project Fundraiser

"Chinook funding supports the most strategic work unfolding at the local level addressing issues of social and economic justice."

If you know me, you know wealth redistribution isn’t just a passion—it’s a practice. For the past five years, I’ve been rolling up my sleeves with groups like Resource Generation, the Colorado College Alumni Action Network, and Community Resource Collective (CRCL), all working to shift land, wealth, and power back to communities.

So when my supervisor nudged me to apply for Chinook Fund’s Giving Project earlier this year, it felt like kismet. (Shoutout to Elliott Williams, a Giving Project alum, for helping me take the leap)!

This project is the radical grantmaking home I’ve been searching for. Here’s why it lights me up:

• All funds go to community organizing groups in Colorado, my one true love :)
• Rural and BIPOC-led organizations are centered
• I am learning, fundraising, and grantmaking in collaboration with 14 individuals just as passionate about this work as I am!

Here’s where you come in: I’m aiming to raise $20,000 (half already secured!). That’s double my past fundraising wins—and I’m so ready to level up with your support.

My personal commitment? A $10,000 gift—the largest I’ve ever made in a year. It’s scary, thrilling, and exactly where I want my money to flow.
