*MUSLIM GARDEN CEMETERY EXPANSION*
The Islamic Center of Fort Collins (ICFC) serves the needs of Muslim brothers and sisters of Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming. In 1997, ICFC purchased one hundred (100) plots to provide proper care and burial to the Muslims in our community. The rapid population growth in the region has contributed to an increase in the Muslim population in the area. The Cemetery Management Committee @ ICFC has been monitoring the availability of plots closely.
By the end of 2021, of the original purchase, only fifteen (15) plots for adults and eleven (11) for children remained. In February 2022, ICFC signed the contract to purchase one hundred (100) additional spaces to increase capacity and expand the current Muslim Gardens at the Resthaven Cemetery. This expansion will allow ICFC to provide burial services for the Muslim population in the region by following Muslim traditions while complying with state law. The Muslim Garden is located at Resthaven Cemetery, 8426 US-287, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
The expansion will cost USD 150,000. On signing the contract, ICFC paid Resthaven Cemetery USD 30,000. ICFC needs to pay the balance of USD 120,000 in equal installments (USD 24,000 each) over a five (5) year period.
By the will and grace of Allah s.w.t. on November 16, 2022, we have successfully completed the first campaign to pay the first installment of USD 24,000 (i.e. 100% of the funds required) towards the cemetery plot purchase agreement.
The success of the first campaign encouraged us to start the fundraising for second installment of USD 24,000 (i.e. 100% of the funds required) towards the cemetery plot purchase agreement. We continue to need your help and support to ensure the proper burial and care of our loved ones in their passing.
And spend [in the way of Allah] from what We have provided you before death approaches one of you and he says, 'My Lord, if only You would delay me for a brief term so I would give charity and be among the righteous'. But never will Allah delay a soul when its time has come. And Allah is Acquainted with what you do." (Quran, 63:10-11)
