Resilience1220 provides individual counseling, support groups, and community outreach to young people, their caregivers, educators, and others who live in the mountain area of Jefferson County, and in Clear Creek, Park, and Gilpin Counties. All of our services and programs are free of charge - but not free to provide! We ask for your support - every dollar we raise enables us to offer counseling and programs to help youth connect with each other, with trusted adults, and with the community. We have a panel of professional therapists who offer the highest quality of care and are committed to mental wellness for the young people we serve.

Since our founding in May 2019, we have provided 1,132 teens, 172 caregivers, and 47 educators with individual therapy free of charge!

Our goal is to raise $50,000 through Word of Thanks and we hope you will support us. These funds will directly support our programming, with $30,000 for individual counseling, $10,000 for support groups, and $10,000 for community outreach.

Resilience1220 works to reduce the stigma around seeking help for mental health issues and to help young people build the communication and coping skills to navigate these challenging times.  We meet teens where they are (in schools, rec centers, and other venues) and in unique ways that bring kids together to engage in outdoor activities such as hiking, ropes courses, disc golf, through art and music programs, and with a range of evidence-based therapeutic methods. We offer support groups for kids who are grieving, for LGBTQ+ youth, and highly sensitive and GT students, among others. In addition, we provide support to parents and caregivers with bi-weekly online workshops in which we bring an expert to speak on a particular issue impacting youth mental health. In schools, we offer teen support groups, mental health workshops for teachers, and screenings of films on mental health issues. Recent films we have shared with the community include "Angst" and "Chasing Childhood".

We know that the outreach and counseling we provide is making a difference among young people. Teens are encouraging their friends to sign up for therapy with a Resilience1220 counselor, and parents are referring us to their friends when they hear of a family who has a teen that is struggling.

“The resiliency group literally saved my life. I really understood now that no matter what your body size, we all have similar difficulties.”
