Help & Hope Center - Feeding Our Neighbors In Need

For over 40 years, the food pantry at Help & Hope Center (HHC) has been assisting our neighbors in need in Douglas and Elbert counties. In 2024, HHC provided help and hope for more than 31,000 residents.

The food pantry distributed over 1 million pounds of food last year. We give each family member enough non-perishable food for seven days - three meals a day plus snacks, including protein, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. We also provide toiletry items, cleaning supplies, and even pet food.

HHC employs a client choice model, which empowers our clients. Having the opportunity to choose their own food gives clients a sense of dignity and control, limits waste, and allows them to tailor the help they receive to be the best possible fit for their own unique situation.

In addition, our mobile food pantry delivers food to low-income seniors in several locations throughout Douglas and Elbert counties.

In the past two years, HHC has experienced a 40% increase in families and individuals seeking assistance. More residents are facing long term hardship due to stubborn inflation and cuts to critical assistance programs. This has led to a 50% increase in our food purchase budget. We pride ourselves on supplying our clients with the best selection of groceries, and it has been difficult to sustain this level of food purchase.

Please help keep our Food Pantry shelves fully stocked with your gift to this campaign. Whether $5, $50, $500 or $5000, your gift brings help & hope to our neighbors in need.
