The Good Food Collective works with stakeholders across Southwest Colorado - farmers, rural grocery store owners, school dining directors, and folks working to put on their tables - to, together, build a resilient and thriving regional food system that nourishes its residents, helps our economy thrive, and builds community!
About our New Home!
In August 2025, a generous donor made it possible for us to purchase a 2,500-square-foot facility in Durango—our first permanent home and, importantly, a regional hub shaped by community and partner input. With renovations, this building will house a flexible convening and teaching space, childcare nook, shared office hub with technology access, and critical food storage infrastructure. Statewide food hub leaders have identified our region as an essential “node” in Colorado’s distribution loop, and this facility will enable our producers and pantries to link more effectively into statewide markets and networks.
This facility will be more than bricks and mortar—it will serve as a regional hub shaped by stakeholder input, designed to connect people, strengthen supply chains, and elevate voices that are too often left out of systems-building work. By co-locating meeting, childcare, technology, and storage infrastructure, we will create opportunities for dialogue, coordination, and innovation that extend across southwest Colorado and link to statewide networks
About the Good Food Collective:
The GFC was founded in 2019 from a deep belief in the transformative power of food systems. At the GFC, we recognize that food systems extend far beyond nourishment; they are essential mechanisms for addressing rural poverty, creating meaningful employment, honoring cultural identities, and building strong, connected communities. At the heart of our work lies a simple yet profound idea: food systems are foundational to health and civic engagement. This engagement is not limited to voting or policy discussions—it is about individuals actively participating in the social, political, and economic life of their communities.
