We are Rambotics, team #9552, a FIRST Robotics team based out of Green Mountain High School in Lakewood, Colorado. We compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). We are proud of our team’s diversity and inclusivity, creating space for everyone to gain real-world STEM experience.

Information on FIRST & Our Team

The FIRST program and our team allow for real-world, hands-on experience with the STEM pathway and with things from Graphic Design to Business. The competition allows students to see the fruits of their labor and work toward a common goal, fostering engagement within our school and the community. FIRST alumni also frequently use industry connections made via the competition and their team’s sponsorships to further their education and career paths.

At the 2024 season Colorado Regionals of the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), we won the Rookie Inspiration Award, which “celebrates a rookie team’s outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering and engineers, both within their school, as well as in their community.” We also entered elimination rounds and were selected by the 1st Alliance at the off-season Kendrick Castillo Memorial Tournament in October. As we enter our third year, our goal to inspire others remains a key aspect of our team.

However, every season, we must pay a registration fee to participate in the FIRST Robotics Competition. We then create a robot as a team and use that robot at the annual competition around spring break against and with the other teams from around the world. The registration fee is $6,300. We also spend roughly $6,000 more on additional materials to create the robot and make it the best it can be, as well as to otherwise support the team.

We are very new as a team and a club, only being around for two years, it is somewhat of a struggle as a fledgling team to raise the required funds to stay afloat, and also participate in the competition, recruit, and do publicity. It would mean a lot to have the endorsement and support.

Here is just a sample of what your support could help provide:

  • Tournament registration fees
  • Robot parts (motors, servos, batteries, structural members, controllers, etc.)
  • Computers and CAD software
  • FRC field kit and materials
  • New tools for our workshop
  • Team shirts
  • RobotC programming licenses

Our team deeply appreciates every donation made to support the efforts of our team.

At checkout, you’ll see an option to cover a 3.99% processing fee. Please feel free to skip this—we’re glad to cover the cost. If you choose not to pay the fee, only 2.05% will be deducted from your donation to cover processing fees. The rest will go directly to the GMHS Baseball Boosters. The Green Mountain High School Foundation, a nonprofit that manages many GMHS booster programs, ensures all funds raised support our team.
