No Farms, No Food

Hello family and friends,

This year I joined the board of Valley Food Partnership after moving to the Uncompaghre Valley in Montrose County, CO. The valley includes over 1000 ranches and farmers, many small and family owned. Olathe Sweet Corn is only grown here and sold nationwide! With an alarmingly high number of agricultural producers retiring across the country, VFP offers unique programming for new producers to enter the field(pun intended!), operates the farmers market, provides resources for sustainable farming and networking, etc. I could go on but you can also go to our website😉. During Colorado Gives, we get a % of matching dollars through 12/5. While we appreciated the government funds that helped us during the last few years, unlike farming, those funds are NOT sustainable and our work needs to continue. Please help us fill in the blanks between grants and fundraising in the small local community and keep this vital momentum going!
