Please help me and the LPSF cover the cost of the growing need for emergency student counseling.

My name is Erin Weaver.  I am a proud LPS alumni and parent of two LPS graduates. I am delighted to serve in my 4th year on the board of the Littleton Public Schools Foundation. Each year myself and other LPSF colleagues bring a diversity or equity lens to our CO Gives Day pages. Over the past three years, kind donations to my page have supported paying down student lunch debt, general mental health programs, and covering fees for equitable student access to school activities and athletics.

This year we would love to put donations raised toward covering the cost of the growing need for emergency student mental health counseling services.

Littleton Public Schools has a Mental Health Resource Fund which provides emergency counseling to students in crisis and facing financial hardship. In just the first three months of this school year, they have used as much funding as they did the entire previous year. The need is growing, and they can’t meet it alone. Your support will mean so much to these students and families in need.

This resource fund falls under LPSF’s Legacy Fund for Mental Health. This supports a variety of programs, including:

  • The Latinos in Action Leadership Club, part of a national program designed to empower Latino youth through leadership, academic achievement, and community service.
  • Dollars for subs and/or stipends so staff can attend mental health training courses.
  • Sources of Strength Clubs for middle- and high school student-led suicide prevention programs.
  • Students Promoting Emotional Awareness and Kindness (SPEAK), a student advisory council that plays an active role in shaping the district’s mental health initiatives.
  • The annual Poetry Slam where students share poetry in a supportive environment, helping them process emotions, build confidence, and connect with peers.
  • Celebrate the Beat, an elementary music and dance program that brings joy, movement, and personal growth to our students.

Stress, anxiety, family struggles, and external challenges are real for LPS kiddos. The ability to connect with an emergency counselor could mean life or death for students and families in crisis.

Your donation today could really help!

No child should be denied the ability to seek needed mental health support because of economic circumstances. ALL FUNDS RAISED THROUGH THIS CAMPAIGN WILL GO DIRECTLY TO THE MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES FUND FOR STUDENTS AND FAMILIES WHO ARE UNABLE TO AFFORD THE COST.

Thanks for your kindness and generosity!
