Drone Soccer

EPIC Campus opened in August 2023 with resounding enthusiasm and success. Students are enjoying the new learning environment, parents are loving that their children are excited about their classes at EPIC Campus, industry partners are energized and getting involved, and the instructors and staff are having a blast! 

Giving high school students the opportunity to explore a myriad of careers while developing skills in concert with earning concurrent enrollment for higher education and industry certifications is just the beginning of making an enormous impact on students’ lives. We’re helping them discover their passions and how that will aid them in deciding to go directly into the workforce or advance on to college. Either way, they are making headway in building the talent pipeline and creating the future workforce that is so needed in today’s business marketplace. 

One vision we have at EPIC Campus is to connect all seven career pathways - Aerospace, Business/Entrepreneurship, Computer Science, Construction Trades, Future Educator, Health Sciences, and Natural Resources - in a meaningful, educational, and school-spirited way, and we think we have the perfect solution… Drone Soccer! 

Drone Soccer is a groundbreaking initiative that combines sports with education. It’s more than just a game; it's an immersive educational experience that shapes students' aspirations in aerospace, construction, real estate, computer science, and other career exploration. Designed to promote inclusivity, the program fosters teamwork, critical thinking, and communication - many of the workforce development skills being taught at EPIC Campus. 

In Drone Soccer, each participant contributes to the success of their team regardless of their skill level. Students rotate through positions and responsibilities ensuring that drones are prepared, batteries charged, and battle damage is repaired. They learn to problem solve together on the fly! Drone Soccer's impact extends beyond the field, equipping students with skills applicable to revolutionizing work, offering benefits like improved safety, savings, and real-time project tracking.

Another fun fact about Drone Soccer is that other schools in the Denver Metro area already have teams and host area competitions. EPIC Campus students could represent LPS and compete locally, regionally, and nationally. How awesome would that be?
