Rocky Mountain Cocker Rescue saves more than 150 spaniels every year. They have agreements with dozens of shelters to rescue all stray cockers who can't be adopted due to medical needs, e.g., eye or ear infections, heartworm treatments; they don't have the resources or post-op care necessary to improve their adoption chances. Some dogs come from owners who cannot physically provide the care needed or have passed away.
They are the only licensed cocker spaniel rescue in Colorado and the only cocker spaniel rescue in many nearby states. They also rescue many dogs from puppy mills - some reasons are that the female isn't producing enough puppies or they ar the breeders decide to shut down.
