After-school and summer learning is not only essential to working parents but also essential to youth development and whole-child education.  Yet in Colorado, for every student in afterschool, five are on a waitlist.  Over 175,000 youth are alone and unsupervised between the hours of 3 pm – 6 pm.

Since 2014, Colorado Afterschool Partnership (CAP) has been building a network of statewide, regional, and local partnerships to help secure the resources necessary to develop new and sustain existing out-of-school-time (OST) programs. CAP follows local and national policies that impact the OST field and engages with key decision-makers to advocate for increased recognition, support, and funding for the field.

CAP provides free professional development, curriculum, and networking opportunities rooted in quality guidelines that are based on national and local best practices.  Nearly 400 youth development professionals across Colorado have attended CAP events including the inaugural Colorado OST Conference this October.

With a network of over 150 organizations that provide direct services to youth and families and partnerships at all levels, a donation to CAP will impact after-school and summer programming across the state of Colorado.
