Howdy!
Colorado Canyons Association (CCA) works with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to foster community stewardship of our three western Colorado National Conservation Areas (NCAs), ensuring that their natural resources endure for the benefit of current and future generations. It is a privilege to lead CCA’s amazing staff and Board team, and work with many committed partners at BLM and other organizations as we give back to these magnificent landscapes.
Our local NCAs--Gunnison Gorge, Dominguez-Escalante and McInnis Canyons—add immeasurably to our quality of life and economy. CCA gets kids and adults outside to experience our public lands and learn about natural and cultural history. Our stewardship projects connect volunteers to the land and other community members as they give back to our protected landscapes. Connecting people to the land is critical for the long-term health of both.
Donations enable CCA to accomplish our mission and you can learn about those accomplishments below. From now through December 10th, you can give directly to my fundraiser to support CCA and our National Conservation Areas. If you can, please help me reach my goal of raising $1,000 during the Colorado Gives campaign.
Thank you,
Chris

CCA's Work & Impact:
Some of the most storied and breathtaking landscapes in North America - McInnis Canyons, Dominguez-Escalante, and Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Areas (NCAs) - are also our communities' wild backyards, central to the quality of life we all enjoy and to the sense of place we share with one another. With that in mind, CCA connects thousands of kids and adults to their public lands every year through educational rafting trips and hikes, volunteer projects, and community events.
Whether exploring by foot, hoof, bike, boat or ATV, CCA empowers community members to connect more meaningfully - with the landscape & with each other - while out exploring the NCAs.
In 2024...
• 2,359 learners received place-based education on the lands and rivers of our National Conservation Area - 587 joined us on day-long or overnight river trips...
• 190+ CCA volunteers dedicated 2,500 hours to stewarding their public lands…
• And over 500 adults connected to their public lands through CCA's community events!
Thank you for caring about the landscapes that make our home such an amazing place! With your donation we can help more kids experience our rivers, plant more native vegetation, connect more of our neighbors to the land, positively impact our wildlife and water and give back to the resources that give so much to us.
