Carmen's fundraiser for United for a New Economy

Today’s the day! 

When our communities are under attack from greedy corporations and billionaires, it’s up to us to take the fight into our own hands and work together.  

We're living through some pretty dangerous and scary times. Right now, what I've found to be most effective at combatting all the existential threats to us has been our communities. Learning, listening, and engaging with everyday people has helped me to find meaning and power in my work, and it's made it even clearer to me why we need organizations like UNE.  

I am asking my closest friends and family to contribute to United for a New Economy, which will help fund our community organizing campaigns to:

• Ensure that renters in Colorado are able to live in dignity in safe and stable housing where they can put down their roots without fear of displacement. Check-out this article about our city level work. Power building starts locally!
• Advance a tax code in Colorado that ensures that corporations and wealthy individuals pay what they owe in taxes for our collective good and prioritizes the well-being of low-income people, people of color and immigrants. The first step is to talk with the people that are the most impacted by our upside down tax code, and that's exactly what we have been doing this year! It's been transformational for our volunteer canvassers and voters.
