🎒 Thank you Trail Magik!

Something we will greatly depend on to complete our walk on the West Highland Way is our Trail Magik carrier. This innovative carrier is perfect for kids like Callan who want to do their own hike, but can't always keep up.

Callan loves hiking, but there really is no way for him to complete all 96 miles of the WHW in the 7 days we plan to do it, so I will carrier him in a Trail Magik when he needs to give his legs a break or when he needs to take a nap.

On so many of our hikes, he genuinely asks specifically for the Trail Magik...it has been wonderful as Callan has learned to hike on his own. But now, we love them more!...

Thank you Trail Magik for donating to our charity walk. Because of your product, so many more families are able to get their kids outside, and because of your kindness, so many families will receive help that will bring them together.

We are so grateful to have a partner like Trail Magik!

In April of 2024, we welcomed our beautiful Ansel into this world, and in the blink of an eye, our routine pregnancy ended and our far-from-routine medical journey began.

After 50 days in 5 hospitals and 3 NICUs, Ansel found the strength to finally come home with us for good. While Ansel's strength is a direct result of the work of his doctors and nurses, our strength came from the love and support of our community.

During those 50 days, I passed a sign at the nurse's station countless times before I actually found the energy to read it: "Love for Lily support groups," or something like that. I shared it with Brittany and not long after, a Mothers Day gift from that Love for Lily group appeared...and even on Fathers Day, Love for Lily pulled through, making sure I was honored, as well.

And for others like us, Love for Lily reaches out in BIG ways like grants to cover medical bills, nurse and medical team trainings, and bereavement programs. Love for Lily is such a beautiful organization, serving NICU families across multiple hospitals in Colorado.

While our family is still navigating Ansel's medical journey, we feel as if we've made it to the other side of the hill...that we are no longer walking through our NICU nightmare. But as we look back at our journey, we've realized that we can extend our hand to those still in it. We've received so much love and support that we actually have a surplus that we need to share.

This symbolic journey will be for awareness and for hope for those with children in the NICU. If you'd like to support Ansel and our family, please instead pass it on to other families who might have a similar story in the form of a monetary donation to Love for Lily. We encourage you to make a donation for each mile of our walk:

  • $.25/mile = $24
  • $.50/mile = $48
  • $1/mile = $96
  • $2/mile = $192
  • Or any amount you feel compelled to give...nothing is too small!
