Cheer On Our Youth

The best way to predict the future is to create it. At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County we are cheering on our youth as they engage at Club and create a new and brighter future for themselves and our community.

Every day when our Club doors open, our youth enter a safe place where they immerse themselves in a broad range of activities and services including homework help, mentoring, behavioral health services, sports and recreation, arts and music, STEM programs, service and leadership clubs, and so much more. We are here to give Larimer County youth enrichment opportunities and cheer them on as they develop into the future leaders, innovators, and changemakers of our world!

What Are the Stats?

  1. Approximately 900 hours of programming took place in Clubs throughout 2023
  2. More youth are feeling empowered to lead, increasing 10% from previous year
  3. Nearly 100% of BGCLC youth expect to complete High school and beyond

Celebrate Our Staff

At Boys & Girls Clubs, we are dedicated to uplifting and empowering our youth. Behind every youth success story is a committed staff member who truly wants to see each youth thrive. Staff agree that though the work is not easy all the time, it is meaningful.  In a recent survey of Boys & Girls Clubs, families feel that staff are the most important part of Club. Thanks largely to staff, 95% of youth feel safe when they are at Club. Because of our staff, our Clubs are safe spaces that encourage curiosity, nurture growth, build connections, inspire dreams, and drive success.

What Do Staff Say?

  1. "I have an amazing group of kids I get to work with. The kids go through so much, and I try to provide a fun, safe and caring energy to them all." - Jamie C.
  2. "I love working for BGCLC because of all the connections and memories I have made with our members! They can light up your day just by walking in the door." - Carlie M.
  3. "I love being able to connect with the kids. The way they view the world inspires me to take their wonder with me into everything I do." - Kaleb D.

Amplify Our Impact

At all of our 13 locations, Boys & Girls Clubs are making significant changes in the lives of members we serve. Our programs have a measurable impact so we are able to ensure we are making a real difference.  In an analysis by Poudre School District on our Summer of Discovery program, results found that youth who participated grew the equivalent of 11.5 weeks of reading instruction, and 7 weeks of math instruction. In addition, 94% of students attending our federally-funded 21st Century Clubs improved math scores from fall to spring and 93% improved reading scores in that time.

Our award-winning Behavioral Health team focuses on creating and maintaining a trauma-informed culture, offering diverse and comprehensive behavioral health youth programming, and ensuring the proper training and support of professional staff. Because of these services, 90% of youth report that they can identify what emotions they are feeling and identify coping strategies. Additionally, through these services, families experiencing food insecurities were identified and assisted, and members needing emergency mental health support were connected with appropriate care.

What Do Youth Say?

“I have learned a lot from Miss Annie and the emotional programs. One that I use a lot is the 5-4-3-2-1 technique that helps me calm down.” - Member at Lincoln Elementary Club
