Advocates for Recovery Colorado (AFRC) is an independent, non-profit Recovery Community Organization. Our organization is peer-run and peer-led. Our services are provided to ANYONE who is in search of or living in recovery and there is never a charge for the services we provide. AFRC supports all pathways of recovery and we believe people are in recovery when they say they are.

Our Mission: We strive to be the voice of hope, empowering those affected by substance use through advocacy, education, and peer recovery support services in all Colorado communities and our core values include authenticity, empowerment, equity, inclusivity, integrity and service.

AFRC offers free peer recovery support services to individuals and family members who are struggling with the consequences of addiction, as well as the growing pains of early recovery. All of AFRC's staff are people who are themselves living in active and sustained recovery and all our services are provided by certified peer recovery coaches with lived experience; people who have "walked in the shoes" of those we serve.

AFRC provides Peer Recovery Coaching to both individuals and groups, offers recovery support groups called "All Recovery Meetings" and hosts Recovery Social Activities.

Peer Recovery Coaching is provided by our certified Peer Recovery Coaches, who offer ongoing support to individuals and family members.

All Recovery Meetings are open to anyone, including those practicing recovery, those interested in learning more about recovery, family members and recovery allies.

Recovery Social Activities are open to everyone and are held to assist in building new connections with people in the recovery community and include events like holiday parties, BBQs, movie and game nights, and other social "get togethers".

AFRC has an office in Denver, Aurora, Montrose and Sterling and all of our services are available at each location. Additionally, we provide services through partnership with other programs, including West Pines Behavioral Health Center; Mile High WorkShop's Second Chance Work Program; Salvation Army's Harbor Light Relapse Prevention Program; and Stader Opioid Consultants where AFRC has a Recovery Support Specialist at Swedish Medical Center and other like-minded organizations.

In an Emergency Room the medical staff is busy providing life saving medical care to their patient, and having a Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) inside the Emergency Department at Swedish Medical Center allows us to reach people at a critical moment in their lives. Our RSS provides individuals and family members an opportunity to have direct communication with a person that can connect them to resources for treatment and ongoing recovery support services.

Since 2018 AFRC has provided peer recovery coaching to more than 3000 individuals and has hosted recovery social activities that have reached more than 12,000 people across our state.

Your donation will help AFRC continue to provide all these services and help save lives in communities all across Colorado.
