Griffin's 30/30/CO Gives Fundraiser

Thank you for perusing my fundraiser page. For those of you who don't know me, Willkommen! My name is Griffin, and I am a proud bass (2!) member of Kantorei. And for those of you returning, thank you thank you thank you. Your unwavering support of me in this group is monumental and humbling. I am continually grateful for the immense, diverse community of people in my life who help me support important pillars of humanity through the arts.

My story with Kantorei started when I was in my junior year of high school. I was a singer in the Cherry Creek High School Meistersingers under the direction of Sarah Branton. I was first introduced to Kantorei at our annual, Meistersingers-Kantorei, winter concert, and I was immediately struck by the artistry and heart of this adult chorus.

Music saves lives. It has saved mine multiple times throughout my life. Music is the manner in which I contextualize my human experience over and over. From my earliest days as a child, to the throes of adolescence, to my professional career as a healthcare provider, music helps me process the triumphs and heart-breaking elements of being alive.

Creating music with a choir like Kantorei fosters and supports untold stories. Through our community scholarship grants that support under-funded, music education programs in public schools, to collaborating with diverse, under-represented, contemporary choral musicians and commissioning those artists to tell the stories of people who have been historically absent from choral music, Kantorei's mission is important more than ever.

I love this group with all my heart. This chorus represents joy, in all of its forms, and I believe joy is what keeps hope alive and keeps us moving during dark times.
