Intimate Salons: Art Up Close
Artists Amongst Us creates intimate salon performances where audiences and artists share the same space, and the distance between performer and audience disappears.
Our salons bring together exceptional artists across disciplines — dancers, musicians, singers, actors, filmmakers and other creative voices — for evenings of performance, conversation and connection. Audiences have an opportunity not only to experience finished work, but also to encounter artists and new ideas as they are developing.
Creating Space for Artists
Behind every salon is a significant investment in the artists and the process.
A typical salon weekend brings together 5 to 20 paid performers and creative professionals. The work begins well before opening night with rehearsals and artistic development, followed by technical rehearsals and a weekend of performances.
We believe artists should be paid for their work. Your contribution helps us provide artist and performer fees, rehearsal and venue space, lighting and technical support, production management, marketing, and professional video documentation.
Two Intimate Salon Weekends in 2027
Our $25,000 Colorado Gives goal will help support two Intimate Salon weekends in 2027. Each weekend represents a much larger artistic investment, with the full cost of developing, rehearsing and producing a salon often exceeding $40,000.
These gatherings also provide an important home for works in development. New music, choreography, theatrical ideas and collaborations can be shared with audiences, allowing artists to experiment, learn and continue developing their work.
