Health Voices for a Livable Environment

Hi Friends!

I hope things are going well for you this holiday season! I'm writing to share with you that for the past two years I've been working as coordinator for PSR Colorado - our state chapter of the national group, Physicians for Social Responsibility. We are health professionals and other concerned Coloradans working to make our state's environment healthier - with cleaner air, cleaner energy, and a safe climate future. We do this by providing information to the public and decision makers about the health impacts of pollution, fossil fuels and nuclear power/weapons and by advocating for less polluting, more climate-protective consumer choices and public policy.

As the Coordinator for PSR Colorado, I've been working to conduct outreach to the public and to health professionals. I find it very rewarding because I get to meet so many people who are eager learn new ways to advocate for a healthier environment and climate and live a healthier life with Healthy Electric Homes. 

I invite you to read our newsletter to learn about our educational programs and our recent victory in cutting Xcel’s unjust rate hike proposal to direct new ratepayer funds to expanding gas infrastructure, and to watch this news report featuring PSR Colorado ally Lucy Molina sharing her story about how toxic air pollution from the Suncor refinery is impacting Commerce City residents. We are working with Lucy Molina to fight for environmental justice in Colorado's vulnerable communities.

I know the work I’m doing with PSR Colorado is important to you as well. We have started a Colorado Gives campaign this season to cover our costs and hire a staff person.
