We're reaching out to ignite a spark of change in our effort to reduce the risk of wildfires. ARWC, in partnership with the USFS San Carlos Ranger District, is committed to working locally to reduce the potential for wildfire in our communities. Our Slash Collection Site Initiative in the Arkansas River Basin is more than just a project; it's a safeguard for our homes, nature, and the future.

Why It Matters:

Wildfires are a growing threat, and your backyard could be the frontline. Proactive fire mitigation is crucial, and our annual slash collection sites are pivotal in this effort. By providing landowners who proactively mitigate their homes a place to drop slash, we are minimizing fire hazards in communities and helping to reduce the intensity and spread of fires. 

Your support is vital. Our slash collection fund is the backbone of this initiative, covering the planning, organization, and staffing of these sites. We're planning to expand our reach, offering more sites and collection dates in 2024, but we can't do it without your help.

How You Can Help:

1. Make a Donation: Every contribution strengthens our capacity to maintain and expand these critical sites.
2. Participate: If you're a landowner completing fire mitigation work, drop off your woody debris at the slash collection sites. Making a donation of $20 per load helps us ensure the continuation of the sites. 
3. Spread the Word: Share our mission with friends and family. Encourage them to participate and donate.

Our Commitment:

Collected materials will be responsibly managed by the USFS, with scheduled burns during winter months to reduce the wildfire threat. We'll continuously update our community with new dates and locations for slash collection.

ARWC proudly offers slash collection sites to communities at no cost, ensuring assess to landowners who need this essential service. However, we request a a donation of $20 for every slash load brought by landowners. This donation helps offset the costs for hosting these events. Your generous donation not only helps keep these sites operational but also contributes to our goal of expanding this service to more communities in the future.
