Janney's Village Institute Fundraiser

Hey friends!

I am raising money for an awesome nonprofit in Aurora called The Village Institute.  Established in 2020, VI does exceptional work alongside refugee and immigrant families to help them build pathways to long-term financial stability and employment by connecting youth and parents to resources, education, and community.  Designed specifically to support refugee single moms, VI fills a gap in existing resources by coordinating services under one roof:  A Montessori Early Childcare Center provides affordable daycare in multiple languages;  youth leadership programs (engaging 60-80 youth per year) help teens and young adults navigate our system, launch careers in healthcare, and pursue college; and parents, knowing their kids are taken care of, can develop financial & digital literacy skills and advance their job opportunities.  

I support this organization because I believe in their mission and leadership, and they have a track record of excellent outcomes.  In its first five years, VI has served more than 400 individuals from 17+ countries.  It serves 40–60 families annually, and the Village Futures program engages 60–80 youth each year. Further, 60% of a 15-person staff have been program participants and/or parents of participants. They have built a loyal donor community, and we are seeking to expand that donor network to support this work.
