TELLER PANTRY FRIENDS RUNS THE 'FAX

In 2026, Teller Pantry Friends is set to run the Colfax Marathon for the very first time!

Teller Pantry Friends is an organization that works to nourish all students, their families and staff at Teller Elementary in Denver, ensuring they have the living essentials they need! The organization's roots are founded in tackling the issue of food insecurity in the school's student population by sending preselected food home with students each Friday. For its first 10 years, the program was called Teller Backpack Friends. In 2023, the organization transitioned into a "bodega"-like pantry that Teller families could visit and shop each week for free, choosing from a variety of fresh, frozen and dry goods. We believe this free-choice shopping experience enhances and encourages dignity and pride for all in our little school community. Our secondary goal is to fight food waste in ours and the greater community.
