Happy Holiday!

This year, I have been excited to deepen my involvement with a local agricultural nonprofit, Poudre Valley Community Farms (PVCF) that is focused on connecting local farmers and ranchers to affordable land and water here in Northern Colorado. I really resonated with PVCF because of my family connection to Rancho Durazno, the organic peach farm in Palisade that my brother, Thomas, started in 1979. You all know Bob and I because of Rancho Durazno - you have been coming to our annual Peach Day for many years to pick up your boxes of organic peaches or you visit us at the Larimer County Farmer’s Market every Saturday during the summer to buy precious organic cherries, apricots, peaches and nectarines. We love that we can connect you with such amazing fruit!

This is where PVCF comes in - I watched how hard my brother worked to attain access to enough land and water so that he could grow and sell organic peaches.  This is what PVCF does in Northern Colorado - provides affordable access to land and water to new and beginning farmers and ranchers to produce local food. This is why PVCF is important and why I am involved!

This holiday, I would love for you to consider joining me in our end of year fundraiser - Fields of Dreams. Your contribution helps save agricultural land, provides opportunities for emerging farmers, and fosters a stronger local food system. I invite you to learn more about Poudre Valley Community Farms at poudrevalleycommunityfarms.org or by watching a short video:

If you feel connected to our mission, I would love for you to consider making a donation to PVCF, either through Colorado Gives Day, or any other day of the year! Our goal is to raise $20,000 by the end of 2024. Together, we can ensure every local farmer and rancher has the opportunity to let their dreams take root and grow.

Right now - every dollar donated is matched 1:1, up to $6,500, doubling your impact!  And, if you donate $80 or more, you are entered into a drawing to win a Summer CSA   worth $450 from Belafonte Farm here in Fort Collins - an opportunity to enjoy fresh, locally grown produce and support local farmers! www.belafontefarm.com

Warm regards!
