When you give to Movement 5280 through Colorado Gives Day, your donation supports our efforts to transform the lives of at-risk and unhoused youth and young adults in Denver.
We are excited to share that an anonymous donor is matching donations up to $4,000 given through Colorado Gives now through December 5th.
Movement 5280 has a mission to provide a "family of support" to unhoused youth and young adults, many who have aged out of foster care, and other at-risk young and older adults as they transition to adulthood and recover from trauma and life on the streets.
We have three primary focuses at Movement 5280: Survive, Thrive, and Revive. Survive: We are a safe place where anyone can come to rest, eat a hot meal, pick out clothes from our clothing bank, and take a shower. Personal navigators work one-on-one with individuals to get their IDs and birth certificates. Thrive: Movement 5280 has on-site counseling and "Expressions of Art Therapy". Movement 5280 encourages young adults to be a part of our "incentivized" Job Readiness program specifically where young adults can have on-the-job training as well as life skills training. Revive: We offer a weekly addiction recovery group and a weekly bible study and Christian church service
In the near future, Movement 5280 will expand its efforts to include supervised supportive housing (single-family home) called Corey's House for young men ages 21-29.
Movement 5280 partners with many other organizations that help unhoused individuals. We are also a part of Change the Trend Initiative to constructively engage the issue of homelessness and the Tri-Cities Homeless Initiative,
Now through December 5th, every dollar you donate through Colorado Gives will be matched up to $4,000.
