Hello Friends,
Growing up, my family had major struggles with finances as we paid for the care my family needed to navigate his health and disability. I could not help but see the same struggle in other friends and families in our community as I was in school. Even having friend in LPS who were either chronically or temporarily unhoused.
We are ALL at risk of falling victim to the cycle of poverty that haunts this country. We may never know if the help we can provide today is the same help we may need in the future ourselves. So, I ask that you help join me in that help today.
As you may know, I am on the board of directors of the Homelessness Awareness and Action Task Force, HAAT Force for short. They are the only severe weather shelter in Arapahoe County that helps provide shelter to the unhoused during the freezing conditions of winter. In addition to hotel vouchers, we provide meals, transportation, and many other resources to help folks navigate homelessness.
There used to be two severe weather shelters in Arapahoe County, but now HAAT Force is the only one and we are experiencing increased demand for our services.
So, for Colorado Gives Day, I am asking if you are able to help us reach our goal of $20k for this severe weather season. Every donation made through the link below will be boosted by funding from the Colorado Gives Day Foundation. Plus, if you sign up to give monthly, your first monthly will be matched up to $100. This is an amazing way to have your impact and support doubled for a worthy cause.
