Aegis & Momentum is a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a powerful mission: to provide safe, supportive, and affordable housing to individuals seeking stability, growth, and independence. We serve individuals often overlooked: justice-involved individuals, people with disabilities, veterans, those in recovery, and community members living on extremely limited incomes. Our housing model bridges the gap between crisis and stability by offering clean, furnished homes and trauma-informed support without the red tape of complex programs or eligibility criteria that so often exclude those in need.
Our Vision is rooted in equity, dignity, and access. We envision a Colorado where transitional and shared housing options are available to every person working to rebuild their life. Background, income, or past mistakes should not determine whether someone has a place to call home. Through structured, supportive environments, we empower individuals to thrive, not just survive.
About the Project: Lakewood Pathways to Stability
With your support, we are opening our second transitional housing site, Lakewood Pathways to Stability, a home designed to provide structure, safety, and community to up to 10 individuals at a time. Located in the heart of Lakewood, Colorado, this residence expands our reach across the Denver metro area and brings us one step closer to ensuring housing access is not limited by zip code or social standing.
This home will provide:
Private and shared room options
Furnished common areas to promote community and stability
Access to public transportation and nearby resources
Supportive oversight, including intake, peer mentorship, and connection to community services
While we are not a treatment center or a service provider, our homes work in collaboration with reentry programs, probation and parole, behavioral health providers, and community-based organizations to offer housing as a stabilizing foundation for those actively working toward better futures.
How We Use Funds from This Campaign
Our Colorado Gives goal is $15,000, which will go directly toward launching the Lakewood residence. Funds will cover:
$10,000 – Furnishing & Essentials: Beds, mattresses, kitchen and dining furniture, living room seating, decor, storage, bedding, housewares, and cleaning supplies.
$5,000 – Housing Scholarships: Many of our residents do not qualify for housing vouchers or are waiting to be approved. Scholarships allow us to bridge the gap and ensure no one is turned away simply because they cannot pay a deposit or first month’s rent upfront.
Each donation makes a tangible difference. You are not only providing furniture or support but restoring dignity and offering a foundation from which individuals can rebuild their lives.
Who We Serve
Since launching our first home in Aurora, we have received over 100 inquiries and applications from individuals with nowhere else to go. Our model is simple and impactful: we provide safe housing where people can stabilize, connect, and begin the next chapter of their lives.
We serve:
Recently released individuals from incarceration or community corrections
People in recovery from addiction
Those with brain injuries or disabilities who need quiet, structured environments
Individuals fleeing unsafe housing or returning from homelessness
Veterans and low-income Coloradans on fixed incomes such as SSDI and SSI
Many residents are referred to us by probation officers, hospitals, homeless shelters, behavioral health caseworkers, and organizations like the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless and Denver Health’s Jail-to-Community program.
