Shining a Light

When I assisted the South Sudanese Underground Railroad in the negotiations to bring back citizens, mostly Christians, that had been taken into slavery during the civil war waged by the Islamist jihadi government of Sudan in Khartoum .

Along with the underground railroad members, we were able to return the freed slaves to their families, churches, communities after carefully documenting the savagery that they had endured in slavery.  The freed always asked me to tell their stories and bring more persons home who were still enslaved.  The Coalition Against Global Genocide helped me honor their request by speaking about Sudan’s modern day slavery in Colorado schools to inform our young and to give voice to our global neighbors coming out of genocide and persecution. The Coalition keeps hope alive for victims of persecution and keeps the light on for all of humanity.
