Hey folks, as many of you may know, I am quite passionate about local agriculture.  So often, people take for granted the food on their plate.  The food you choose to eat has the potential to positively impact the individual's physical health, the community's economic health, and the health of the land.  This is why I am so passionate about local food, it can make a positive impact in so many different ways!  In addition, I just have a soft spot in my heart for farmers and ranchers - they are a hardworking, resourceful, ingenuitive bunch that truly see their work as a public service.  Farmers and ranchers work hard everyday to put food on our tables and the least I can do is in turn work hard for them!  This is why I am in the job I am in (i.e. I work for Valley Food Partnership :)), plus for street cred I like to say it runs in my blood since my grandfather and generations before him were farmers.  One of my favorite things growing up was walking and driving the farm with my grandaddy and hearing the stories he'd tell.  The above photo is me using a rotatiller preparing VFP's incubator plot for beginning farmers and ranchers - plus its a testament that sometimes I am actually able to get out of the office and "get my hands dirty".
