Ong'icha Soccer Academy-Kenya celebrates new uniforms
This year we have donated soccer balls, pumps, nets, uniforms, cleats, jerseys and t-shirts throughout Africa. The donations have provided hope, resilience and fun across the continent. New gear provides a sense of pride, dignity and self-confidence.
"Inspired by the African proverb, It takes a village to raise up a child, Patricia Kloehn decided to act. Through her organization, "Save the Ball Soccer for Africa," she sent precious cartons of soccer balls, nets, pumps, and uniforms—all brand new. The impact was immediate and profound. The children and their teachers, who had previously faced the scarcity of resources, now have the tools to foster health, community, and positive relationships. Games and tournaments were organized, uniting neighboring villages and schools to celebrate shared joy." - Deogratias Fikiri, Idiji Islands, Congo

"Play soccer and learn English was Sylvin's idea ...
Save The Ball Soccer for Africa turned it into reality by sending soccer balls, a ball pump, a net, and 28 jerseys to Ranomafana. The organization was born out of the dream of Negus Kloehn, a young Ethiopian boy who was adopted into the U.S. and fell in love with soccer. Before his untimely passing in 2020, at the age of fourteen, Negus envisioned giving children in Africa access to proper soccer equipment." - Institute for the Conservation of Tropical Environments, Madagascar

“Through Save the Ball Soccer for Africa, Patricia Kloehn became a beacon of hope for Ong'icha Soccer Academy – OSA Kenya. Her thoughtful gift of a soccer ball, pens, cleats, jerseys, socks, and shorts has done far more than equip our players — it has ignited dreams, restored confidence, and brought smiles to many children from vulnerable backgrounds.
Because of her generosity, our academy has grown remarkably; more young boys and girls from low-income families have joined, inspired by the spirit of care and opportunity her support represents.
Patricia’s kindness has truly transformed lives, giving these children not only the joy of play but also the belief that they are seen, valued, and capable of greatness.
We are now steps ahead of where we once were - stronger, united, and filled with hope, all thanks to the love and compassion shared through her act of giving.”

Alhasant TV - Kenya
"Alhasanat TV extends its heartfelt gratitude to Save the Ball Soccer for Africa for their generous donation of soccer uniforms. This marks a special milestone as our very first donation from an organization in the diaspora.
The uniforms have arrived at just the right time, as we gear up for our upcoming tournament in November. Your timely support has greatly uplifted the morale of our players and strengthened the spirit of teamwork and healthy competition.
This act of generosity not only supports our youth but also builds a lasting bridge between communities at home and abroad. We deeply appreciate your belief in our mission and your commitment to nurturing talent through sports." - Ally Karume

The children of Medson Sports Foundation are overjoyed. The smiles, the energy, the confidence ... it's because someone believed in them. Thank you for equipping our young girls, boys and scholars with the tools they need to dream bigger and play stronger." - Coach Budji Edson
At Save the Ball, we believe in more than just saving soccer balls; we believe in creating dreams as you have read above. Each ball we send, each piece of equipment we provide, is a lifeline to a better future. These young players are more than athletes; they are future leaders, creators, and changemakers. By supporting these organizations, we are helping build communities, transform lives, and nurture the dreams of Africa’s youth. Together, we can do so much more—together, we can help them soar.
