Keep the Story Going for Denver’s Children

We know how much your family treasures that special mail delivery once a month sent directly to your young reader. It’s more than just mail - it’s a little package of wonder where every page becomes a journey shared with that special adult. Sharing moments of reading together, building a new world of story and loving that time, as much as the story itself.

Imagination Library Denver finds themselves in a tricky time. Book deliveries are paused for now—yet we remain hopeful and full of determination that it won’t be for long. The Imagination Library of Denver is facing a critical moment. Due to rising shipping costs, a surge in enrollment, and shifting priorities in literacy funding, 8,300 children in Denver lost access to free books beginning in May.

Here’s the truth: While Dolly Parton launched this incredible program, local communities like ours raise the funds to make it happen. That means every book your child receives is made possible by caring people living locally —just like you.

We need to raise $65,000 to continue delivering books over the next three months.

The impact of this program is real:

📚 95% of parents report that ILD is helping prepare their child for kindergarten

📖 66% of children show more interest in looking at books on their own

🌟 Children enrolled are 41% more likely to meet early reading benchmarks (DIBELS)

You can help us turn the page for Denver’s children:

• $10,000 funds a year of books for nearly 400 children
• A multi-year gift of $25,000 secures consistent access for over 950 children
• Corporate sponsorships and label naming opportunities are available
• $31 donation assures another child receives books for a year

With the cost of shipping each book rising from $2.20 to $2.60, our monthly expense has grown to $21,500.
