Over the past several years, we've been working to save a national treasure from decades of differed maintenance and creating an active arts and culture hub. Over the past four years, efforts have been focused on rehab efforts to the exterior of the building. We have much more work to do to rehabilitate the Tabor, but we are close to completing our exterior scope of the project and need your support to achieve this goal!

For those interested in supporting our work- an anonymous local donor has offered to match any donations we receive up to $70,000 this fiscal year. Any donation you make to the Foundation in 2023 will be matched dollar for dollar and is tax deductible and eligible for an extra 25% state of Colorado tax credit as we are an enhanced enterprise zone eligible project.

  • Join us in achieving our big vision: Revitalize Leadville's historic Tabor Opera House and build a community hub for arts and culture, welcoming all.
  • Follow the rehabilitation and ongoing work to save this National Treasure.
  • Like us on Facebook and Instagram, and share our story with your friends and family!
  • The Tabor Opera House has been deemed a National Treasure by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
  • We have arrived at a pivotal moment in the building's 144-year history, and we need the support of those near and far to help us protect, preserve, and reactivate this piece of Colorado's history.
  • Donations of $250 or more are eligible for an additional 25% State of CO income tax credit through our Enterprise Zone Status!
  • Finishing the Exterior Wall Restoration 2024 includes:
    • Restoration of the Storefront of the building, Windows & Cornice
    • Restoration of the wood balcony
    • Restoration of the Upper Cornice
