Opportunity for Foster Youth

Forward Steps has been selected for a two-year matching grant through the Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE), creating an opportunity to increase the number of foster youth served through the Guardian Scholars Program.

To secure the full match, we must raise $54,000 in new community support in 2026 and another $54,000 in 2027. CDHE will match those funds dollar-for-dollar, creating $216,000 for the Guardian Scholars Program over two years.

Demand for the Guardian Scholars Program exceeds our current capacity, and students we are unable to fund are placed on a waitlist until resources become available.

This match gives us a chance to support more students.
