100% of proceeds benefit Dolly Parton Imagination Library:
The Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, otherwise referred to as the Imagination Library, is an early literacy program here in Larimer County. The program is available to children, aged zero to five. Each child will receive 60 age-appropriate books over the course of five years. The books are hand-selected by a panel of early literacy professionals as a program of The Dollywood Foundation. The selection of books also includes bilingual titles.
Why we chose the Dolly Parton Imagination Library:
The Rotary Club of Fort Collins is committed to improving child literacy in our local community.
This program is available to children, aged zero to five, and each child will receive 60 age-appropriate books over the course of five years. The books are hand-selected by a panel of early literacy professionals as a program of The Dollywood Foundation. The selection of books also includes bilingual titles.
Books in the home have been consistently proven to be an indicator of a child’s academic success. 90% of brain development occurs by age 5. Research shows between 66% and 75% of families read more to their children after receiving the Imagination Library books. Most importantly, children develop a lifelong love of learning and reading.
Last year's proven success and this year's goal:
Last year we were able to raise $26,444 for Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity due to the generosity of our sponsors and the fact that the entire event is volunteer organized! Our goal is to break $30K this year.
