MAKING A DIFFERENCE!

Single moms want their children to be happy, safe and provided for. Hands of The Carpenter (Hands) too often hears how this hope is far from being possible. Geneva’s story highlights the importance of Hands' services. When she came to Hands in 2021, Geneva had only been in Denver a few years, lost her job, was pregnant, and homeless. A partner agency referred her to obtain a car to find work and care for her little one. She was able to use the Legacy Outback that Hands got her into to secure employment and an apartment. At Hands of The Carpenter, lives are changed one car at a time.

WHO WE ARE

Since 2003, Hands of The Carpenter (Hands) has been helping single mothers achieve self-sufficiency through automotive services.

With rising living costs and insufficient financial resources, these hardworking women often struggle to maintain a vehicle for transportation to work, grocery stores, daycare, and more.

By providing access to experienced technicians and even donated vehicles for reasonable program fees, we strive to eliminate these worries and allow women to focus on providing for themselves and their families.

Thank you for your consideration to join other individuals, businesses, and organizations in the Hands community of Champions (supporters), providing financial contributions to keep single moms safe on the road while alleviating financial burdens – creating long-lasting security and empowerment!

TRUSTED TECHNICIANS

  • Hands’ skilled technicians don't call a car "ready" unless they feel it's safe enough to trust their own mother, daughter, or sister to drive.

A SENSE OF COMMUNITY

  • Together, we make the magic happen. Staff and volunteers directly serve the clients, and Champions engage because of their empathy and desire to address an unmet need.

SELF-SUFFICIENCY

  • Together, we lower the financial burdens of maintaining a vehicle so the clients can keep getting to work and fulfill their career and parenting goals.
