Karen? Running?! For Fun?! For The Matthews House!

Well, I did a thing.  I signed up with 11 other crazy people to run a 200 mile relay race from Fort Collins to Steamboat.

"But Karen, you don't run."  Yes, yes I know.  But here's the thing.  I always joke that I only run for survival.  While that is very true and I am in no way a runner or should be labeled as such I am a firm believer in helping our youth and families survive the daily challenges and struggles they face.

The Matthews House is one of those organizations that you can't help get behind.  Their mission is to help youth and families become self sufficient which in turn ignites a community that not only supports but offers a profound impact on all those involved.  Together we are building long lasting change and we need your help!

Our team is made up of all types of runners.  Including some that have never run a race in their lives (insert hand raise here)!  This is a challenge that started off as a silly endeavor and while there will be lots of fun to be had and beer to be drunk, (Our team name is Beer Now Run Later) there is a whole lot of depth and personal growth about to happen!  I look forward to jumping out of my comfort zone and into something scary and new.
