Have you enjoyed a cool drink or snack while sitting on the Rock Ledge House front porch? Viewed the Labor Day Base Ball game from the rock wall in front of the house? Or wondered at the marvelous coolness within the root cellar? To keep these and other elements of the Rock Ledge House’s story alive for future generations of visitors, we are raising money to preserve this historic home.

Preservation work is needed on the spacious front porch to ensure that this space continues to be a place of rest and relaxation for visitors for years to come. Quarried from local stone, the wall in front of the Rock Ledge House has served to elevate the house in its surroundings and provide additional space for recreation. Your contributions will help us to maintain and reinforce this significant piece of Rock Ledge Ranch history.

Built into the hill behind the house, the root cellar served an important role at Rock Ledge Ranch during the Chambers’ time, keeping everything from milk to homemade jams and jellies cool and ready to serve and share. Preservation work on the root cellar will enable visitors to experience this space for themselves once again.
