In 2011, Local Theater Company started as an experiment. What if we created a theater at the base of the foothills in Boulder, CO dedicated exclusively to developing brand new plays? A group of friends gathered (Maggie, Mare & Rachel) and Local Theater Company was born.
More than a decade later we have discovered, developed and produced over 50 new plays and 18 world premieres. Our organization has grown, we have evolved to include a new leadership model and our education programs have quadrupled in size. Our staff and associate artists live all over the globe including Colorado, California, Chicago, Kentucky, New York and London.

Local Theater Company doesn't just make theater for Coloradans. We don't just make theater for theater-goers. We make theater for everyone. When you elect to enter the theater, or attend a show or class online, for that brief span of time we are all Locals.
