Colfax Half Marathon for Art from Ashes

Hi friends!

I am running to fundraise for the wonderful nonprofit that I work with, Art from Ashes. We offer creative empowerment workshops for youth ages 12-24 using the magic of art, poetry, and spoken word. The impact of storytelling in a judgement-free, brave space can be transformational for young people - many of which have been silenced by the systems and societies around them. 

Art from Ashes has helped shape the way I express, the art I create, my relationship with vulnerability, and how I connect and interact with my community. I began as a volunteer, but completely sold out on the work; I was moved to shape my life around serving in this capacity. AfA has changed me for the better and its been an honor to witness the impact these workshops have on the youth we serve.

This is will be my 3rd time running the Colfax half marathon!
