As many of you know, Tanner and I recently took in our first foster kids, a resilient and caring now 15-year old and her very energetic 3-year old brother who has the most amazing smile. Despite spending the last year homeless, the two have managed to keep a positive outlook on life and, in just a few short months, have bettered our lives in ways we couldn’t imagine.
It has also been illuminating to see how challenging it is for these kids and the many more out there to navigate the system and hope to come out on the other end with a real future. That is why I am proud to be on the board for Child Advocates Denver CASA, who train and provide volunteers to advocate for and support our most vulnerable children through the court system. I’m so glad we have a CASA supporting our kids.
As the opioid epidemic continues to ravage our communities, there is a greater need than ever to support our most vulnerable children. Please help me in raising money to support this incredible organization.
