Welcome to Vince's Sky High 5k benefitting Sky High Hope Camp, a one-week summer camp experience for children and teens with current or past pediatric cancer and/or limb loss/limb-threatening conditions due to tumor, trauma, or infection!

This will be a virtual event taking place on Saturday, August 15th.  We highly encourage participants to wear Sky High Hope Camp clothing or gold in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness, and we ask that you post your photos from the event on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/skyhighhopecamp) or on Instagram with #skyhighmagic #runforVince2020 #rememberingVinceDiCroce

While this is officially an inaugural event, Sky High Hope Camp volunteers and campers have participated in a fun run honoring the life of Vince DiCroce for the past several years. Vince ran 30 marathons, 28 of them after being diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2004 when he was given a life expectancy of around three years. His motto was "I will not just survive, I will be better than before." In addition to being an avid runner, Vince completed seven Ironman triathlons after he was diagnosed with brain cancer. He inspired everyone around him to live a fulfilled and meaningful life.  Vince believed that a good attitude and living a healthy life contributed to him living well after the life expectancy predicted for him. During his decade of treatment at the University of Colorado Hospital, Vince became very close with his neurosurgeon, Dr. Kevin Lillehei  and his PA, Colin Catel. They introduced Vince to Sky High Hope Camp, and it became Vince's passion to collect donations for this amazing camp which allowed kids affected by cancer to experience a magical summer experience where the campers get to forget about sickness and just be kids.

We greatly appreciate donations of any amount, but we're asking for $20.20 per participant to honor the inaugural event taking place in 2020. We hope to continue this tradition for years to come to honor Vince's life and raise awareness and funds for Sky High Hope Camp.
