Mission Statement

The mission of the Foundation is to support Red Rocks Community College in its commitment to students, learning, and excellence.

Organization History

Red Rocks Community College has been serving the Denver Metro area since 1969 with a mission to provide students with opportunities for growth and development that set the foundation for self-directed learning, academic achievement, and career accomplishment. RRCC is a fully accredited, public, two-year college known for its high quality, innovative educational programs, commitment to excellence, dedication to students, and investment in the community. Serving the more than 600,000 residents across four counties - Jefferson, Park, Clear Creek and Gilpin, over 7,000 students enroll in 650 courses at RRCC each semester. Degree and certificate programs range from English and Biology to emergency services and health careers. The College offers multiple modes of course delivery to complement traditional on-campus options. These include online, accelerated, weekend, and hybrid class offerings. Red Rocks Community College has two campuses, its main Lakewood campus and its Arvada campus, 15 miles to the north.

The Red Rocks Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose purpose is to seek and allocate supplemental resources to serve student, faculty, staff and community needs of Red Rocks Community College that would otherwise go unmet. This includes providing scholarship assistance to more than 300 deserving students annually, supporting grant initiatives developed through College faculty and staff that have merit but no funding source, and sponsoring the Teaching Chair Program, which recognizes the efforts of exemplary faculty. The Foundation Board has a strong commitment to ensuring that donated funds go to direct support, as opposed to building fund balances. Since its inception in 1993, the Foundation has given back more than 12 million in support to the college and its students.

"Deep down I knew that I could be successful but needed someone to believe in me and give me that push in the right direction. That someone ended up being the scholarship program. I can't tell you how much it means to me that you have given me this opportunity and I promise I won't let you or myself down. This funding has been the fire that ignited my drive for success."

"I am extremely thankful for the donation you have given. When I get to a point in my life that I can give back I certainly will. You have taught me that giving pays. Thank you for all you have done for me over the years. You are one in a million."
