At Ray of Hope, we believe that no one should have to choose between their health and their home. If a family can’t meet their basic needs, cancer treatment takes a back seat.
Ray of Hope Cancer Foundation has supported Colorado cancer patients for over 20 years. Your gift helps Coloradans battling cancer when treatment impedes their ability to meet their most basic needs. Our grants help reduce worry and stress so patients can focus on healing. Ray of Hope is dedicated to helping combat the financial toxicity associated with a cancer diagnosis.
All donations from Colorado Gives Day will fund our work and efforts to ensure that no Colorado cancer patient in need goes without support.

To respond to the urgent needs of Colorado cancer patients by providing financial assistance with dignity and humanity.
The Ray of Hope Cancer Foundation was established in 2002 by oncologist Dr. David Schrier in memory of his patient, Ray Wentz. At 17 Ray was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Ray was a courageous teen with a bright smile who inspired those around him with his bravery and grace. He and his teenage sister lived independently and struggled to pay rent and buy food. The work we do today allows his positivity and light to shine on.
It has been 20 years since Ray inspired Dr. Schrier and the stories of need and relief that we receive show us that we make a difference in providing hope and a little comfort from mounting bills for cancer patients struggling to meet their basic needs. Not all our clients can reach out and let us know how we made an impact, but the ones that do keep us motivated.
